AUTUMN/WINTER 2011: "DARK DAWN"
This collection combines eco-friendliness and the three Rs ("reduce, reuse, recycle") with stylish couture: "Dark
dawn" is made out of Rudy Wolff Victorian costume parts and redesigned catwalk garments as well as modern
ecological fabrics. The Norwegian public got two sneak peaks of it already in 2010: Ending the "Classical
fashion I" show in February 2010 and the midnight blue "Queen of the ocean" beads and silk dress shown on
stage in connection with the Miss Norway finale in August. Rich in details, but far more discreet in color tones
than previous collections, "Dark Dawn" was shown in New York city and Washington DC February 2011.
AUTUMN/WINTER 2010: "IMPERIVM"
Shown among columns at the Norwegian theatre museum in Oslo, February 2010, this collection includes
menswear ("Wolffman") and is inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity, the Napoleonic wars, the British empire
and the Russian czars, as well as strategic computer games and sci-fi like "Dune", hence the name
"IMPERIVM". The colors were mainly red, navy blue, black and white, with softer colors on several of the
women´s outfits. One of the uniform jackets was shown on national TV even before its completion, while
another appeared on the Norwegian Grammy awards Spelemannsprisen shortly after. Pictures of the entire
show, as well as a photoshoot and product pictures are published at the Facebook fan page. See also the
dedicated fashion show blog. The last outfit of the show in February, a luxurious "Russian caviar" pearl jacket
with a stylized Romanov eagle was also the first of the planned A/W 2012 collection "Dark Dawn".
SPRING/SUMMER 2010: "VANITY FAIR" I & II
Displayed at Oslo Fashion Fair in August ("Vanity Fair part I") and India International Fashion Week in
December 2009 (part II, or "the luxury edition"): "Vanity Fair" is a playful, more simplistic & ultra feminine
collection mainly inspired by the Empire era, the 1960s to 1980s, and Walt Disney classics. The main colors of
this summer evening wear collection are mango yellow, pink, sky blue, and lilac, while the designs enhance
the female figure. See also the product group picture below right and Rudy Wolff´s blog. A remixed version of
"Vanity Fair" with some "Imperivm" garments was shown in connection with the Miss Norway 2010 finale
show. The fashion show part of the event was called "Mixed Candy".
AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION 2009: "MAKING HISTORY":
Shown at Oslo Fashion Week February 2009: Rather than a collection in a traditional sense, the controversial
"Making History" is a selection of the different styles Rudy Wolff has experimented with so far, with i.e.. the
renaissance era, 18th and 19th century uniforms - and New Look, all to differentiate herself from the typical
streetwear and almost colorless contemporary Norwegian design. Outfit sketch: Below right.
PREVIOUS, HISTORY INSPIRED LINES*:
MOYEN AGE: Viking and medieval inspired costumes inspired by adventure movies, sagas and knighthood.
RENESSAINCE: An extravagant line mostly based on high and late renaissance, especially the Elizabethan era.
Some of this garments were redesigned for "Making history", including the show stopping bridal gown.
VERSAILLES: Luxurious garments inspired by the contemporaries of The Sun King, Louis XV le bien aimé and
Marie Antoinette. "Making history" was made in this spirit, though also inspired by Hjertenskjær:
HJERTENSKJÆR: A super romantic, elaborate and feminine symphony of spring and summer colors like pink,
yellow and light blue, lace, satin and pearls.
DEMIMONDE: Decadent, often black and red underwear and accessories, as in the high end bordellos of the
late 19th century. Black pearls, feathers and fringes are mandatory, and some of the garments in the
"Imperivm" and the upcoming "Dark Dawn" collections have elements of this line.
GLAMOUR: Classical feminine elegance with inspiration from Hollywood and contemporary haute couture.
The "Vanity Fair" collection is a further development of this style.
* These consist of single outfits and accessories with different inspirational sources. Made to measure orders only.
