| FASHION DESIGNER The elegance of the post war era is her modern favorite, together with 1970s jet set and the yuppie 1980s. These interests are now combined with modern couture. In 2007 a stylist course was completed with the best grade. Soon after she was advised to debut as a fashion designer, and did so with a costume-inspired show in February 2009. Later, her style developed into there more simplistic, without loosing the sense for maximalism. The main activity of her company is now concentrated around her fashion design, hence the own Rudy Wolff Design department. The clothes are marketed as simply "Rudy Wolff" and will be shown at several occasions worldwide. WRITER She has always liked to write, and also worked as a freelance journalist in the capital area for some years, specializing in trends, fashion, lifestyle and culture. It was in connection with this Rudy Wolff Design & Media was established in 2006. Rudy Wolff Media is closely connected to the design part, and an illustrated fashion show blog was launched in November 2009. Later this will be supplied with a blog on politics and culture. ARTIST Also painting (oil, acrylic and water color), drawing, and the above mentioned calligraphy have been important interests throughout the designer´s life. Since about 2000 Photoshop is included among her creative activities. Hence, this website and all the graphic art of Rudy Wolff Design & Media is her own work. MASTER OF MANAGEMENT In addition to this and the position as an advisory board member in an IT company, she completed studies in innovation, management and strategic marketing at Norwegian School of management (BI) in 2010. Thus she rounded the circle, by i.e. writing about Louis XIV´s autocratic self staging as well as modern high end marketing. The 37 years old designer is now living in a historical townhouse at Frogner in Oslo, Norway. |
| is the anglophone equivalent to the university degree cand. philol., and covers Rudy Wolff´s life and work in multiple ways: AN INSPIRED CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH Since her upbringing she has been fascinated by history, art and beauty - and communicating this to the outside world. Aesthetics, style romanticism and linguistic sophistry is therefore a part of her everyday life. In addition to language, music and movies, fashion and art history, drawing, painting and writing has occupied Rudy Wolff from her childhood and teens. At the age of 16, she started with calligraphy, while costume design became a part of her activities about two years later. MASTER OF ARTS She started a six year long Master study in history, art history and literature as a 19-year-old. She completed this already after 5 1/2 years, at 24, with a history project about the Danish 17th century king Christian IV and his town planning involvement. After this, she commenced another primary course, in Norse, and was involved with a student theatre in Bergen. Here her first play, the 18th century comedy "Pearls for Swine" was staged in 1998. LECTURER, SHOPKEEPER AND COSTUME DESIGNER The next 11 years she worked as i.e. a lecturer at junior colleges and a shopkeeper with her own boutique. She also made costumes as well as teaching herself graphic design and digital photo editing. Besides lecturing in i.e. history and Norwegian, Rudy Wolff sold clothes, jewelry, books and music from 1999 to 2002. The lifelong interest for art and history was reflected in her products: Besides designing garments for "goths" and role players, she made several medieval costumes and later tuned into renaissance inspired garments. Baroque, rococo and Louis seize were also main sources of inspiration, later added by Napoleonic styles and fin du siécle. |
